TEKNO’s Will Davison has produced a stellar drive in Race 14 at the Townsville 400 for Round 7 of the Supercars Championship this weekend.
- Will was P8 in Practice 1.
- Will finished Race 14 in P8.
- Will is now 13th in the Championship Standings.
Race 13 – Position 19
After debuting the new Woodstock Bourbon livery with P8 and P9 in Practice, Davison struggled with confidence under brakes and was unable to deliver a clean lap, finishing qualifying in P22.
Saturday was a tough race for Davison finishing P19, early contact leaving car #19 worse for wear.
The TEKNO team worked into the early hours of Sunday morning to make changes for Race 14.
Race 14 – Position 8
Davison again struggled in qualifying, finishing in P17. A clever strategy and stirring drive allowed Davison to climb 9 places by race end, capitalising on fresher tyres late in the race.
With momentum building, Davison now sits 13th in the Championship Standings on 822 points.
“It was a really difficult weekend, we made some changes on Friday night but it went a bit pear shaped on Saturday. The first Race was horrible, but I’m so proud of the team who was there overnight to make all the changes for Sunday. It was great on Sunday to have a great clean race and be real contenders, it was awesome to finish the weekend on a good note.”
Davison will now prepare for Round 8 of the Supercars Championship at the Ipswich SuperSprint on July 28 – 30, with all Races to be televised LIVE on Fox Sports.
