TEKNO Autosports spent the day at Queensland Raceway on Tuesday, using the rare testing time to validate a handful of changes to the #19 and #97 VF Commodore racers, and to bed in parts in advance of the beginning of the Pirtek Endurance Cup at Sandown on September 13-15.
There was plenty of time for pit-stop practice, as the dark-art of the quick brake pad change becomes all important at the enduros. We also got lots of components roaded and tested in advance of Sandown so that we know what works, and what doesn’t come race day.
Whilst the other Queensland based teams had their co-drivers at QR, our European co-drivers Marc Lieb and Jeroen Bleekemolen won’t be joining us until next week, so Jonathon and Shane were able to spend the entire day perfecting their cars. We know that Marc and Jeroen will be awesome co-drivers – they’ve both won at Le Mans, and we’re fantastic at the Gold Coast 600 last year.
Now we’re back in the workshop, and getting ready for the biggest time of our racing season. We can’t wait to get started!
