TEKNO’s Will Davison has narrowly missed out on Top 10 finishes at the Townsville 400 for Round 6 of the Supercars Championship this weekend.

  • Will finished P10 in Practice 2.
  • Will finished Race 12 in P11.

Race 11 – Position 13

Davison qualified P15 after missing Practice 3 with a gear issue, but was met with tyre issues and traffic on his flying lap.

Davison had a good start to the first Race at Hidden Valley, but the safety car came out at a bad time for the team.

After the restart Davison was run wide and lost a series of positions which cost him a Top Ten finish.

Race 12 – Position 11

Davison qualified P18 after struggling with rear grip under the brakes.

A strong start to the Race quickly saw Davison strategically pit on the first lap.

Davison was able to pass a series of cars throughout the Race and was able to finish in P11.

Davison has now climbed to 14th in the Supercars Championship Standings.

“It was a tough weekend for us, but we had good recovery today in the Race. It was very frustrating to qualify poorly but we had a quick race car and were in the top 3 or 4 with pace. We maximised the Race today with a very aggressive strategy and it paid off. Unfortunately we got stuck behind some cars at the end which altered our progress but we bought it home and got some points. Just need to work on our qualifying but we had a good weekend overall.”

Davison will now prepare for Round 7 of the Supercars Championship at the Townsville 400 on July 7-9, with all Races to be televised LIVE on Fox Sports.
