TEKNO has announced their lineup for the first round of the Australian GT Championship, with 2014 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Champion Fraser Ross and McLaren GT Factory Driver Come Ledogar sharing the McLaren 650S pilot seat for the weekend.
Ledogar returns to the category following up on his appearance at the final round of the GT’s in 2016 at Highlands, NZ and heads back to Australia fresh from the Bathurst 12 Hour.
The Clipsal 500 will be Ross’ first outing with McLaren, after spending the last two seasons competing in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, and he is ecstatic to make the move to the Australian GT category with the full support of TEKNO.
“I’M VERY EXCITED TO BE JOINING A PROFESSIONAL OUTFIT LIKE TEKNO AND TO BE DRIVING A MCLAREN 650S GT3 IN THE AUSTRALIAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS SEASON WILL BRING WHOLE NEW CHALLENGES AND I AM DETERMINED TO BE FIGHTING AT THE FRONT FROM THE GET-GO.”
The Adelaide round will host 3 Races over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event.
Total Oil Australia and Opti-Coat Coatings Australia will sponsor the #59 car throughout the six round championship.
“IT’S AN AMAZING FEELING TO HAVE THE SUPPORT OF A RENOWNED GLOBAL BRAND SUCH AS TOTAL. WHAT THEY REPRESENT IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY IS MASSIVE AND FOR THEM TO PUT THEIR FAITH IN ME IS HUGE.”
Ross & Ledogar will contest Round 1 of the Australian GT Championship at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from March 2-5.
