Tekno Race Against Bathurst 12 Hour Heartbreak

Words by Owlpine Group. TEKNO’s #1 McLaren 650S has finished 5th overall and 3rd in the PRO Class at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, while the #59 entry was unable to take part in the race at Mount Panorama Circuit. Davison didn’t get a chance to replicate his recent successes at Bathurst alongside Ben Barnicoat and Jonny Kane after the rear subframe was unable to be replaced. Davison set a lap time of 2:03.386 to finish P2 in the Qualifying session, but the #59 Car was unable to be repaired for the race following a clash with the wall during Barnicoat’s qualifying stint. “OUR TEKNO MCLAREN WAS REALLY QUICK IN QUALIFYING AND I THINK WE HAD THE PACE TO [...]

Hampton Downs Wrap Up

Team Direct Plasterboard Outlet Tekno Autosport’s Nathan Morcom has felt the brunt of the stewards, when a post-race penalty cost Morcom and Co-Driver Grant Denyer a podium finish at Round 3 of the Australian GT Endurance Championship. With the Tekno Autosports Team opting to set up the McLaren 650s in Race Spec, Morcom made the Top 10 Shootout and qualified 9th for the Race after a slight mistake into turn one. “WE STARTED 9TH AND HAD GREAT RACE PACE AS WE ALWAYS KNEW WE WOULD, IT’S A LONG RACE SO WE WERE ALWAYS WORKING HARDER ON RACE SETUP THEN QUALIFYING AS THAT’S ONLY ONE LAP DASH WHICH ULTIMATELY DOESN’T WORK OVER LONG PERIOD IN THE RACE.” Race 1 – Position [...]

Team TEKNO was back out at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth for the Australian GT Championship alongside the V8 Supercars last weekend, taking to the track for two 60-minute races across Saturday and Sunday. Race 1: Race 1 began on a damp track, which saw the need for the whole field to be fitted with wet tyres to start the race. This later progressed to a visible dry line that ultimately hampered the performance of the wet weather tyres and saw the Safety Car brought into action on Lap 16, before the pit stop window was set to begin. Jonathon Webb in the #59 McLaren Melbourne 650S GT3 opted to swap to slicks under the safety car period alongside Nathan Antunes [...]

Australian GT 2016 Australian Grand Prix Wrap Up

It was a stellar result for Team TEKNO in only our second outing contesting the Australian GT Championship at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix around Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne last weekend.  With just over a week since TEKNO Autosports driver Nathan Morcom claimed P2 in Race 1 at the Clipsal 500 in his #60 McLaren 650S GT3, it was the first time the Australian GT Championship had raced the Melbourne track alongside the Formula 1 since 2010 in four 25-minute races across the weekend.  A unique format for the event also meant that the cars would race without compulsory pit stop times, with the ‘pit stop’ times instead added post-race. Race 1: In the #59 McLaren, Jonathon Webb joined Christopher [...]
